Message on our company vision

I appreciate you for your interest in our company and our product. It was during the summer of 2013 where the BallStars vision began. Hosting a team of great players including Hall of Famer Gary Payton, All Star Tracy McGrady, walking highlight Jason Williams, and our team leader Bonzi Wells we took the country of China by storm! With record crowds awaiting our every move the passion from the fans was palpable. We went searching for great games while also giving YouTube sensations Kenny Dobbs, and high school phenom Aquille Carr their first taste of international basketball. What we found were teams that were ready to play (we went 2-2 versus the CBA teams), but the fans were what created this concept.

Basketball is played all across the globe and the one thing that ties everyone together is competition and being the best in the world. While Michael Jordan, LeBron James, and Kobe Bryant might be huge icons in America, internationally they are almost viewed as unicorns because the fans never get to witness their greatness. We look to bridge that gap and produce basketball events and tours on a global scale. It is our duty to bring our greatest export to the international marketplace.

The last essential ingredient to being a BallStar player is doing your part within the communities that we visit. We will not only bring the game to these countries, we also look to leave an indelible mark on the community and create a legacy for each return trip moving forward.

Thomas Durso

VP of Licensing & Strategic Alliances

With a background that spans decades in operations, finance, brand licensing, and legal negotiations Tom is the lynchpin with The Legendary BallStars. A strong corporate financial background has allowed Tom to make significant accomplishments in acquisitions,

business and brand development, and all aspects of corporate finance and operations. Durso has excelled in a variety of leadership positions at Ben & Jerry’s Homemade, Burton Snowboards, Tom’s Shoes and the Ultimate Fighting Championship as well as several technology companies earlier in his career. He has overseen the licensing and global expansion of Ben & Jerry’s; overseen corporate finance, acquisitions and Asian market for Burton; set up international

distribution and manufacturing channels for Tom’s Shoes. His areas of expertise include multi-currency hedging, cash management, capital structuring strategies, all aspects of acquisition management, business development, and accounts receivable management. Tom is a graduate of UMass Amherst and lives in Colchester, Vermont.

Bill Francis

VP of Acquisitions & Brand Development

Bill has 30 plus years in the entertainment & music industry. Booking celebrity talent for major corporate events to private parties. He specializes in marketing & brand awareness. A wide variety of companies ranging from private label wineries, pharmaceutical & casinos have all benefited from his expertise. He has attached many celebrity to well known products. 

Bill, as a music contractor and a member of local 802 musicians union in NYC has been associated with some of the most recognizable jingles ever! His team won a Clio Award for Almond Joy’s, “Sometimes You Feel Like a Nut.”

Bill’s contacts with national media outlets, he is able to maximize brand & client visibility.

He has facilitated & Produced film & TV projects for several #1 NY Times Best Selling Authors.

Throughout Bill’s career and travels he has cultivated many relationships that still exist today. At this point in his career he can call upon his contacts to help promote a product or brand. His hard work and perseverance are the main ingredients for a successful campaign.

Nesby Blanchard

Booking Manager

With over 25 years of experience creating international events Nesby is the perfect addition to our team. As an expert level negotiator Nesby has brokered deals for his clients all around the world including:

  • China

  • Dubai

  • Africa

A few of his past events include MMA, Comedy Jams, and Musical Concerts. Nesby also was the Chief Operating Officer for Southern Communication Systems Telecom establishing telecom products throughout Asia, Africa, and the Caribbean.

Nesby not only looks to bring his expertise to the BallStars brand but to continue pushing the brand forward.
